Project Overview
FlexiBank is a mobile banking app built to help users manage their finances digitally without needing to visit a physical branch. The goal was to create an intuitive and accessible platform for users—especially small business owners—who face mobility or location challenges. The app enables users to open and manage accounts, transfer money, track expenses, and secure transactions from anywhere, anytime.
Problem Statement
Adamu Ibrahim, a 42-year-old small business owner in Kaduna, Nigeria, struggles with accessing physical bank branches due to mobility and distance limitations. Traditional banking systems are slow, inaccessible, and often require in-person verification. He needs a reliable, easy-to-use mobile banking solution that allows him to manage his finances remote
Goal Statement
To design a secure, intuitive, and accessible digital banking experience that simplifies everyday financial tasks. The solution aims to let users open accounts, send and receive money, manage cards, and track expenses—all within a simple, trustworthy interface.
Research & Insights
I analyzed several leading mobile banking apps such as Kuda, Opay, and GTBank to identify common pain points like complex onboarding and poor accessibility.
Through user research, I discovered that:
- Users prefer biometric login for faster access.
- Long sign-up forms discourage new users.
- Small business owners want clear expense tracking and secure transfers.
These insights guided my design decisions throughout the process.
Design Process
1️⃣ Empathize – Conducted user research and identified accessibility challenges.
2️⃣ Define – Mapped user flows and pain points to clarify priorities.
3️⃣ Ideate – Sketched and brainstormed low-fidelity wireframes.
4️⃣ Prototype – Designed high-fidelity screens using a modern, dark UI style.
5️⃣ Test – Evaluated usability and refined key user journeys for simplicity.

The Solution

The Result
The project resulted in a complete UX case study demonstrating the full process—from user research to final prototype. FlexiBank successfully meets the goal of creating a secure, accessible, and efficient banking experience, tailored for users in Nigeria who need reliable financial tools on the go.
